(Roundtable) How The Red Cross Builds, Grows, And Sustains Communities
March 18 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Whether you’re building, growing, or sustaining an online community, everyone will have similar questions. How do I engage my members? How do I get questions answered? How do I plan for, launch, and then effectively manage the different aspects of my community?
On this call, Ernesto Izquierdo, currently the Global Community Manager – Change Adviser at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), will share about the resources he’s built out as well as the strategies he’s undertaken to accomplish these things and set up communities for success.
Join us as we hear from Ernesto as he discusses topics like:
- How he guided a community to go from 95% of questions answered to 100% in just an hour
- How he plans and launches communities to be successful
- How he built a guide to plan, launch, sustain, and grow online communities through strategy and tactics
Ernesto has worked at the ICRC since July 2013, starting as an online communities adviser (social marketing) and has since worked in social marketing, digital communications, and social collaboration network project management capacities.
Ernest has contributed to the development of over 120 communities, including the ICRC’s Enterprise Social Network (ESN) which saw over 5,000 members engaged in the first eight months and can say state that they see 75% of questions solved within 24 hours.
He will speaking from the perspective of internal (or employee-facing/ESN) communities, but these resources can be relevant and adapted for different use cases.
