(Roundtable) Learning To Ask For What You Need
December 10, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
We know that, overall, community teams are underfunded, so how do we get the resources we need to sustain and grow our community programs?
On this call, we’ll explore how we can get better at asking for what we need and explore the overlap of asking and relationship-building.
One half of this discussion-based call will revolve around the high levels of burnout community professionals are feeling paired with their struggle in receiving the resources and guidance they need to be successful.
Because knowing what to ask is powerful, we’ll work to articulate:
- What we need
- What is the biggest problem
- What would help
For the second half of this call, we’ll explore the “who”:
- Who has the stuff we need?
- Who do we ask?
- What’s keeping us from asking?
In our research, we’re still seeing persistent issues with not developing approved or funded roadmaps, so we need to collectively learn how to ask for what we need as we mature as community leaders.
Join us on this call as we figure out how we can all help each other figure out what we need and when/how to ask for what we need. We hope to see you there!
