Qualifications
•
2-5 years of experience in social media and community management
•
A passion for games, must be knowledgeable about various game genres, successful IP, game platforms, and fan communities
•
In-depth knowledge of social media including Discord, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch and more
•
Excels in communication – both in tone of voice, copywriting, and visual expression
•
A motivated and organized work style, you’ll own this area of focus and are expected to meet goals with support/resources as needed
•
Team player – we are a small team and support each other every day, that may mean taking on things outside of the job description or occasionally working nights/weekends when needed
•
Positive attitude, looks for solutions and opportunities, open to feedback
•
Working experience in the games industry, familiarity with Steam marketing
•
Knowledge of game developers and publishers
•
Experience launching products or supporting entertainment IP
•
Video editing or graphic design experience
•
Proven success in growing Discord communities
Responsibilities
•
This role will attract new community members for our games and maintain an engaged community across social platforms, email, events and distribution platforms
•
Reporting into the Head of Marketing, this role is expected to manage audience communications, marketing campaigns, and partner support across the Midwest Games portfolio
•
We ask everyone on our team to amplify our core values of respect and community-mindedness as we seek to grow our business and help others succeed in the games industry
•
Establish a strong voice and presence for Midwest Games as a new games publisher
•
Create a social calendar that works towards our strategy and goals, prove growth in followers and engagement each quarter
•
Help our partnered games succeed with tailored campaigns, audience targeting and effective ROI
•
Serve as a key audience contact – representing fan feedback and social trends
•
Thoughtfully handle reactive messaging, as needed, troubleshooting and providing feedback to production or elsewhere
•
Create engaging content, whether it’s writing, designing or producing on your own or in directing contractors and agencies
•
Experience with paid social media and other advertising partnerships
•
Identify and manage relationships with influencers/creators for game launches and events
•
Analyze audience data and share regular reports on community growth and game sales
•
Select and manage tools/vendors to support social media and general marketing efforts
•
Work with marketing teams on distribution platforms for features and ongoing success for our games
•
Support other marketing team needs as needed, ranging from event support to website updates and platform marketing to email communications
