Coming this Spring: the 12th annual State of Community Management survey.
The State of Community Management research, now in its 12th year, delivers groundbreaking insight to communications, engagement, learning, and operations professionals. Published each spring, this research informs the work, plans, and budgets of thousands of leaders globally.
ABOUT THE SURVEY
This 20-minute survey will ask about your community operational structure, management, metrics, and results. This research, now in its 12th year, has guided tens of thousands of community, engagement, communications, and IT leaders. The results help community program owners create business plans, roadmaps, management expectations, and performance benchmarks.
This year, we combine operational benchmarks and business results to provide a comprehensive view of how both internal/employee communities and external/market and customer communities are investing - and the value they are generating from that investment.
Participants will receive a community maturity score and a PDF of their submission upon completion.

WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE
Those who have a view of the management and governance of community programs are in the best position to participate in the State of Community Management survey - for smaller organizations that might be a community manager and in larger organizations that might be a communications, marketing, customer experience, HR, L&D, or knowledge management executive with oversight of a community initiative.
The more participants from different industries, roles, and organizations, the more we will be able to deliver additional segmentation and insight back to you.
The 2021 survey period is from January 19 - February 5. Survey results will be published this spring. All participants will be emailed a copy of the report. Sign up for our monthly newsletter to get updates and reminders.
