We love our new tag line. We think it epitomizes what we do. But we also realize you may not get it. Thus our 2nd installment of Lost in Translation.
When The Community Roundtable was started we had a theory that humanizing a business and making real relationships with people was a better way to do business. The more common way of watching the bottom line and counting recent transactions felt to us like you were always behind and running to catch up and it didn’t feed our souls.
Making real connections, developing long-term relationships that stand the test of mistakes and missteps with customers and employees kept us more centered. And going that route does not mean you are not business focused. It just means you are focused on today, tomorrow and far beyond, not just on today. Three years later our theory has been bearing fruit and keeping us sane. And talking about how to make that more clear to you all, led to our tag line.
Here is Rachel Happe being interviewed at Enterprise 2.0 on the business of community
But don’t just take our word for it, others are also talking about the business of community:

So that is what we mean when we say we are committed to advancing the business of community. Because having a community for your business IS about bottom line results. But it also feeds your soul and takes some of the work out of work, in our humble opinion.
