One of our favorite and most valuable aspects of TheCR Network is the regular Roundtable calls we organize for members. These calls are led by distinguished industry experts and experienced community practitioners. It goes without saying that we love to boast about the impressive line-up of thought leaders who drop by to share their experiences with us. This Spring we have had the honor of hosting Haydn Shaunghnssey, Jack Ashman and Jeremiah Owyang (among many other wonderful guests) .
Haydn Shaughnessy is trained as an economic historian at the London School of Economics and Oxford University. He is a research fellow at the University of California, Irvine, and a former fellow of the Society for New Communications Research. He was a partner at The Conversation Group, the first social agency, and has advised major companies and Government departments in the Netherlands, Sweden and the European Union. He wrote the “Re: Thinking Innovation” column at Forbes and has also written for the Wall St. Journal, the Times and many others. Hayden is the author of two books on the changing economy and major shifts in business and work, Shift and The Elastic Enterprise. He is a time-served expert in platforms and business ecosystems whose work also embraces semantic analysis of emerging patterns of thought and behavior. We were thrilled to have Haydn in TheCR Network for a conversation about the new economy and the role of community.
Jeremiah Owyang is a founder of Crowd Companies, an industry analyst, and a regular speaker at community-centric events. He helps corporations connect with customers using web technologies by researching the way disruptive technologies are changing the customer relationship, speaking at conferences and events, and by serving as a frequent source for the media. Jeremiah’s blog has been a source of industry insight since 2006. In addition to his blog, Jeremiah (and his team) has published numerous research reports focused on social business and the collaborative economy. His research focuses on topics like how products, services, and markets have changed with the collaborative economy; how businesses manage complex, scaled social media programs; and the career path of the new social strategist. Check out his reports here. Jeremiah recently led a discussion in TheCR Network about how leaders change their business models to enable themselves to partner with the crowd. This was Jeremiah’s second time leading a Network roundtable call (he was so fantastic the first time, we had to have him back) and we hope it was not the last!
Does it sound like we are bragging a bit? Guilty. It’s just so hard not to talk about the accomplishments of our distinguished guest speakers and the extraordinary value they bring to our members.
