Next Monday, January 28th is the 4th annual Community Manager Appreciation Day. This day was started by Jeremiah Owyang as a way to recognize and celebrate the efforts of community managers around the world. And we agree. For the many tireless tasks community managers do day in and day out often without anyone noticing or appreciating them, so a day to acknowledge this hard work is great.
We’ll be celebrating in many cities with events all day:
- Austin, TX – Community Manager Appreciation Breakfast co-hosted by Lithium
- Chicago, IL – Communtiy Manager Appreciation Lunch
- Boston, MA – Community Manager Appreciation Happy Hour co-hosted by Communispace and Hailo Boston
- San Francisco, CA – Community Manager Appreciation Happy Hour co-hosted with Lithium, Altimeter, Yammer, Brandle Systems, Adobe and Get Satisfaction
And as our mission is to help community managers and social business professionals succeed in their tasks we will also be joining in the 12-hour CMAD hangout hosted by MyCMGR. Our time slot will be from 2-3p Eastern and we will be talking with community managers about the tools, resources, tips and tricks they use regularly to make their days a bit smoother. We’ll also be discussing how community managers prove their value and get buy in from higher ups, a pain point we’ve heard from many recently.
