We have been pleased that initial reaction to our annual report on The State of Community Management has been so positive and that so many people we respect have taken the time to cover the report and provide their perspective. One of the things I love is to see is what resonates with different people – some people find golden nuggets, some find lessons and data they are not sure they agree with, and many have their own excellent questions and thoughts to add.
Here’s are sampling of reaction to the report:
David Armano notes the importance of curating content for digital influencers.
Roanne Neuwirth of Farland Group is intrigued with the concept of having a clear perspective and point of view when developing a community content strategy.
Valeria Maltoni sees the critical relationship between content and community building.
Michael Brito says that while it’s nice to see progress, empowerment is the key to performance.
Bertrand Duperrin, who reviewed our 2010 report, provides a thoughtful analysis of what has changed since last year’s report and some important considerations for thinking about this from other cultural perspectives.
We love how Gavin Heaton describes community management. Gavin would love the report to have a more international focus.
Sparkplug Digital pulled out a number of things that struck them as interesting.
Lilian Mahoukou did an email interview with me and combined a few of our reports and presentations.
Edelman Digital provided Jim with the opportunity to post his key take-aways here.
We would also like to thank Ken Burbary, Richard Millington, Igloo Software, The Social Customer, the Enterprise 2.0 conference, Sitecore, GovLoop, Christopher Rice, Sandrine Plasseraud, Choblab, Cristina Riesen, and many, many other friends and followers who shared the document via their blogs, Facebook pages, and Twitter streams. We have had over 12,000 views in a little under a week and it is gratifying to see the document well received after all the hard work that was put into it.
