The Community Roundtable Announces Principal Sponsor for 2012 State of Community Management Report

March 14, 2012 By Rachel Happe

Protiviti sponsors report that examines the continued evolution of the social business industry

LYNNFIELD, MA – Mar. 14, 2012 – The Community Roundtable is pleased to announce Protiviti Inc. as the principal sponsor of the 2012 State of Community Management Report. The report examines the continued evolution of the social business industry and analyzes best practices and lessons learned from industry leaders and practitioners. Based on insights gleaned from more than 100 roundtable calls with members of TheCR Network, a membership-based peer network of community professionals, the 60+ page comprehensive report highlights artifacts, patterns and initiatives likely to occur as organizations evolve their social business competency.

“Protiviti’s expertise in the area of risk management and business consulting gives them a unique perspective on why listening to and engaging customers, employees and critics are crucial. The firm is on the leading edge of understanding how maturing online communities can be a great competitive advantage in business,” said Rachel Happe, co-founder of The Community Roundtable.

“One of the most exciting parts of consulting is sharing with executives what everyone in their organization is thinking, but may not be saying,” said Gregory Hedges, a managing director with Protiviti. “Generating relationship-based engagement in a community is challenge enough. The research in the State of Community Management report challenges us even further. It suggests we all advance the maturity of communities and helps us provide our clients with a roadmap for how to do this.”

A joint Protiviti/Community Roundtable webinar will present the 2012 State of Community Management key findings and best practices, with a focus on how communities have matured over the years. While previous years’ reports used the eight competencies of the Community Maturity Model to organize the analysis, this year’s edition has organized it by maturity stage – showing how far the social business industry has come. Register for the complimentary webinar, to be held on April 10 at 9 a.m. PDT / 11 a.m. CDT / noon EDT at www.protiviti.com/webinars
