The SOCM 2017 provides a snapshot of the progress and changes in community management, based on research of more than 300 communities from organizations large and small, which span a range of use cases, sectors, and industries.
In this eighth year of research, we were able to produce more relevant data about the three elements of community management that drive success – community strategy, operations, and tactics, than ever before.
The three key findings from the SOCM 2017 are:

- Operations: Lasting behavior change requires more than transactional investments.
- Tactics: Connecting content and programs to strategy accelerates community success.
